Here are my experiences of trying to learn to TIG weld stainless. It offers some general lessons on trying to learn to weld, while describing my efforts in trying to learn TIG welding.
Things move on!. Here is my first qualifying weld and the equipment to do it.
The different challenges presented by different joint geometries when TIG welding. Generally the full-penetration welds present a different challenge to the fillet welds. A fairly long text-only page describing a long and laborious path for me (and for others, judging by commentary).
Looking like a break-through in fillet welding (of stainless steel) - the uphill T-joint fillet weld is coming together, with increased manual skills and learning.
I passed the "TIG welding of stainless steel" course!!!. Here's pictures of the final test, on which I convincingly passed.
