It works - from seeing some suitable offcuts of tube to having a working rod-mill:

Two things came-together

• mentoring from this younger guy who had gone through the learning-curve quite recently
• another volunteer had the good photographic equipment including illumination

First mineral separation

It's a first for me - from lumps of "rock" to separated mineral

• break with lump-hammer on "anvil" to about 25mm size
• jaw-crusher - to 10mm size with small laboratory jaw-crusher
• rod-mill grind to "sand"
• separate on shaker-table - small test shaker-table
• "pan" off dense associated iron mineral siderite using gold prospector's pan
