Lake Erie frozen

These pictures were taken on 22nd January 2003. The temperatures are hovering around -10 to -12 Celsius and have been well below freezing for the last 10 days. The last picture shows an area which had frozen as smooth as glass. As I stood in the middle of this area and looked downwards through the few inches of ice I could see shoals of fish swimming around - nice.
