FEA sim. - central-area axially-loaded cylinder - longer

This simulation is additional to its predecessor , serving similar purpose.

This version is made twice as long, at 4m length.

This is acheived by introducing a plane of symmetry where previously there was the lower end of the sample.

Therefore: the images following show the upper half-length of the cylinder.

The results

All exaggerated deformations are 1e7 times (10million times) the actual deformation.

The stresses are seen to be near-uniform at the middle (the lower edge of the body as seen here).

Stress YY

(the local small high stress regions on the axis at the surfaces are likely an "artifact", produced by the approximations of the FEA model, but not representing anything in reality)
