Stormfront - late Sept nr Milton

Coming home from Waterbeach along the river, stormclouds gathered in the sky. The wind blew strong and for the first time in months was cold, suggesting the end of this seemingly endless summer may finally have come. I grabbed my camera, to record what may be the last few minutes of a summer which has lasted for months.

Here is a 3-second movie of same scene.

I then raced to get home, but the rain arrived as I got to the edge of Cambridge. Sheltering under a tall overhanging hedge, the rain tossed the gravel of the path and wind whipped it into swirling shapes on the river. The land needs the rain, but if the summer is gone it will be missed.
